About Busay Falls
Busay Falls in Malilipot, Albay, Philippines, is a picturesque seven-tier waterfall with a combined height of about 91 meters. Located roughly 20 kilometers north of Legazpi City, this natural attraction is a favorite local destination for swimming, trekking, and picnics, offering a refreshing escape surrounded by lush forest.
The falls are fed by clear, cool water originating from the upper streams of Mt. Mayon. The lowest tier features a spacious, shallow pool where most visitors swim and relax, while the last cascade alone drops about 40 meters and is visible from the pool below. More adventurous visitors can climb to the upper tiers, though a local guide is recommended since the trails are narrow and not fully developed. The area remains largely undeveloped, preserving a cozy, relaxing ambience under a forest canopy. Kubos (cottages) are available for rent, and snacks are sold on-site, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and water. The dry season from March to June offers the best conditions for trekking and swimming. Whether for a cooling dip, a short hike, or a quiet picnic in nature, Busay Falls is a memorable stop for nature lovers exploring Albay.
