About Solong Eco Park

Solong Eco Park, Caves and Mountains in Camalig, Albay, is a 6.5-hectare nature and adventure destination near Legazpi City, offering cave exploration and hilltop views of Mayon Volcano.

Opened to the public in 2017, the park is a mix of eco-tourism site, cave system, and scenic hill landscape. It is best known for Crystal Cave, also called Solong Cave, a former crystal mining site that has been turned into a guided spelunking destination. Inside, visitors can see stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations, with safety ropes installed along sections of the trail. The explorable area reaches about 250 meters for adults, while children are limited to shorter distances for safety.

A short but steep hike leads to the summit of Solong Hill, where a viewing deck offers panoramic views of the surrounding green hills and, on clear days, the majestic Mayon Volcano. The trail is made easier with improvised steps from recycled car tires, and the climb takes around 15 to 20 minutes. The grassy hill formations nearby are often compared to Bohol's Chocolate Hills, earning the area the nickname "Mini Bohol of Bicol".

The park also features gardens and farms, including a dragon fruit farm, and serves as a habitat for local flora and fauna. Picnic areas and food offerings are available on-site, making it suitable for families, nature lovers, and adventure seekers. Guided tours are part of the experience, and the park is generally open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Whether for cave exploration, a scenic hike, or a relaxing day surrounded by nature, Solong Eco Park offers a memorable outdoor experience in Albay.
