Malinao. This egg-yolk shaped islet is a protected nature reserve composed mainly of crushed coral and beige sand, sculpted over time by waves and currents into a small but distinct island in the Lagonoy Gulf.\n\nThe shoal is best known as the only place in Bicol where the \"Magayon Trio\" — Mt. Mayon, Mt. Malinao, and Mt. Masaraga — can be seen together in full view. On clear, sunny days, the postcard-perfect cone of Mayon Volcano rises dramatically behind the turquoise waters, creating a scene that photographers and nature lovers find unforgettable. The islet itself has no trees or rock formations to provide shade, giving it a raw, remote island feel.\n\nCorangon Shoal is a declared municipal marine sanctuary, specifically the 4.4-square-kilometer Corangon Shoal Fish Sanctuary and Marine Reserve. The protected status allows a vibrant underwater ecosystem to flourish, with diverse fish species and colorful corals around the shoal. Snorkeling and diving are possible in the surrounding waters, and the island is considered one of the top dive sites in the Bicol Region. Sea turtles have also returned to Tiwi's shores thanks to rehabilitation efforts.\n\nBecause it is a sanctuary, visitors must obtain permission from the Municipality's Agriculture Office before visiting. A short boat ride of about 10 to 15 minutes from Barangay Baybay in Tiwi takes visitors to the shoal. There are no amenities on the island, so visitors should bring their own water, snacks, and sun protection, and are expected to take their trash with them. Whether for photography, snorkeling, or simply standing on a coral islet with volcanoes on the horizon, Corangon Shoal offers a rare and memorable experience in Albay.","category":["spots"],"municipality":"Tiwi Albay","geo_lat":13.455791800000002,"geo_lng":123.71066710000001,"activity_tags":["Island Hopping","Photography","Sightseeing","Snorkeling","Scuba Diving","Swimming","Boat Riding","Sunbathing","Beach Walking","Mayon Volcano Viewing","Magayon Trio Viewing","Coral Viewing","Marine Life Observation","Picnicking","Relaxing"],"contact_info":{"phone":"+63 9000000000","email":"albaytourist@gmail.com","website":"https://albaytourist.com/"},"social_links":{"facebook":"https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61585599752475","instagram":"https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61585599752475"},"pricing_lowest":0,"operating_hours":"24/7","rating":4.8,"is_premium":false,"view_count":0,"fullURLMap":"<iframe src=\"https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d3688.3029665016693!2d123.71066710000001!3d13.455791800000002!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x33a1b3e3d0d308c7%3A0x926df92fec2d08db!2sCorangon%20Island!5e1!3m2!1sen!2sph!4v1791126633279!5m2!1sen!2sph\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"false\" loading=\"lazy\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"></iframe>","fileSizeMB":196284,"pictureCredits":"https://www.facebook.com/proudtobealbayano.ph","creditsName":"Proud To Be Albayano","createdAt":"2026-10-04T15:12:23.626Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-04T15:12:23.626Z"}
